What a way to start the year...

The first post of the year. Sadly, it will be a melancholic one. I am deeply saddened by the church attacks that happened recently. Now not only church buildings are being destroyed, but even cars with Christian-themed stickers too. What has our country come to? What happened to "1Malaysia"? Is it all but a joke and lie? How can they allow protests like these to go on when it threatens national security and the peace of the country? So many questions, NO answers at all. This too reflects the direction our country is heading. Ever since the change of Science and Maths to be taught in BM, our country has begun to go backwards. Now this? We are even more backwards than ever. Violence solves nothing. It may intimidate some, but what good will that do? And the government isn't going to take action from the looks of it. They may give warnings, but violence like this has to be curbed immediately. They say ISA can be used on these violent protesters. But the question is, will they do it? I believe these people cause more harm to the country than Teresa Kok who actually did no harm. Such injustices run rampant in the country. 1Malaysia mou? Bovine faeces.

I actually agree with those words. Will our prime minister stand for the whole country or only for the Malay Muslims? This too will be a mystery.

But even so, the Bible says this:

³⁵Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? - Romans 8:35 (New International Version)

So amidst the violence and the persecution, we Christians should not lose faith or be intimidated, for Christ overcame sin and death. Let us be strong and not back down because of these persecutions. After all, Christians in China and in other countries face greater persecution than this. On the day of the second coming, all will be revealed and justice will be done on earth.

Lots of wonderful things happened in 2009, and lots of not-so-wonderful things too. God really poured out His blessings in abundance this year, great or small. The new friends I've made, the opportunities to serve, the happy times, the sad times, the exam results, and the wonderful family too, even though there are times when it gets really frustrating. Even so, let 2010 be filled with more blessings, so much blessings that it is uncountable. More friends, bigger and greater opportunities to serve, more happy times, less sad times, better results, and so on...

The Rev.Amp conference last week was just superb. We (the Poverty & Environment group) actually did a lot of things, e.g. participate in Alicia Loh's book launch, register voters in Subang Parade, gotong-royong at USJ 3 and 4 and plant trees at USJ 2. We definitely impacted various communities in a way somehow. In fact, we are in The Star newspaper today. You can find the article on Today's Star Metro (Monday 21st December 2009) page 9, or here. We represent the whole conference, the church and also our God. All praise and glory goes to Jesus who strengthens us. I didn't know until my mother and sister told me just this afternoon. I think this conference impacted us in different ways, as some didn't really want to go at the beginning, but ended up loving it. As for me, I viewed this conference as an opportunity to do some community work, which I enjoy doing. I hope I will be doing more of this next year, despite SPM. I learned a lot of things for the past one week, and got a lot of different experiences and exposures. I even got to serve as an usher in church services, which is just fantastic.

I do not want to talk too much, but to all my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, let us all grow together, strengthen each other, and lets not be complacent and ignorant, but be brave and courageous to do His works and His will. Let us pick each other up when we fall, and show the love of Christ to one another.

Goodbye for now my fellow humans ;) By the way, I signed up as an organ donor yesterday.

Oh, gee-odes...

I just started my homemade geode today. If you do not know what a geode is, it's those hollow rocks with crystal formations within them, the ones which they sell at crystal shops. If you still don't know what on earth I am talking about, it looks like this:

I actually found out about this at About.com. It's really simple, as the materials involved are just sodium chloride (table salt), water and eggshells. The eggshell will act as the mineral for the crystal formation, in this case calcium carbonate. The full project/experiment can be found here. I hope it works, I don't really want the salt to go to waste. Hopefully the crystals will form really well in the next few weeks. Chemistry is fun, isn't it?

Anyway, I will be leaving for Penang tomorrow. Won't be doing much there, except for eating. Until then, farewell.

YES. Three months since my last post. Let me start with:

Results: FINALS.
Yesterday, on that ill-fated Saturday, the whole school is supposed to collect their results for the finals (except the Form 5s). To be honest, I was quite nervous since I thought I did quite badly for my finals. I set my alarm to ring at 6 a.m., but I only woke after 25 minutes. My whole family came along, because they wanted to go to the DKSH warehouse sale later. Ignoring all the other insignificant facts, to my surprise, my results were better than I expected. I am happy about my position in class, but B for History and PJK(PE)? Meh. Form 4 History is a bore, and 'a bore' is actually an understatement. But through it all, praise God for helping me through the finals. I actually was not fully prepared for my papers, especially the 3 science subjects, because it's the first time for many of us to 'experience' the full SPM-format papers. In fact, I did really well for Chemistry and Additional Mathematics (although I left quite a number of questions blank). Praise God for that. And my close friend did really well too. He improved so much throughout the whole year, from no. 30-something to no. 18 (I think) and now in the top 10. Praise God for that too.

YKPM: Family Day and Community Service.
Recently, I joined a missions project that assists YKPM (Yayasan Kajian & Pembangunan Masyarakat) in their Family Day and Community Service at Taman Prima Selayang. The Family Day was on the 14th of November last month and the Community Service was on the 28th of November. The Community Service came out in the newspaper (The Star, Metro, 30th November, Monday), although the report was not exactly accurate, still, please check it out. Overall, it was really fun. The community there is moderately poor, and they live in low-cost flats. Honestly, these living conditions are not new for me, I have relatives that live in similar conditions, but lets not get into that. Regarding the Family Day, I'm glad it all went well, despite the weather (it rained on that day). In fact, I think the rain made it more interesting and fun. Regarding the Community Service, it went well too. Although we were lacking considerably of manpower (God bless those who pulled out at the last minute), thank God for seeing it through. I had to clean up a bush area which the residents commute along the pathway there often. It was no joke, I think I might have lost a cup of blood back there to those blood-consuming insects we know as mosquitoes (why did God create such insects?). We only managed to cover a considerably small area, but everyone worked hard, and we accomplished what we needed to do there. Community Service is about selfless work towards the community in effort for the community to advance and improve, and it is not about the recognition or fame, hence, selfless. I hope my juniors (yes, I was a committee member and I had some underlings) may be able to understand that. Christ did not suffer for himself or for naught. He suffered for the world. To be Christ-like, shouldn't we suffer for the good of others too? When we talk about missions, it's not all about going to some unreached people group or flying to Africa to feed malnutritioned kids.Sometimes, all we have to do is to look around. Our country is still not a first-world country, so poverty is still present even in the likes of a city. After all, providing for the needs of the community is what we as citizens should do, and even more so as Christians. For me, I enjoy doing community work. Much better than ~~spending~~ wasting precious time and money in Cyber Cafes, or doing some other non-productive activity. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that leisure is bad or wrong, just that once in a while, contribute to the community and the country. We often talk about our country lacking of infrastructures and other luxuries and essentials, but little do you know that by eradicating poverty we can improve and advance our country indirectly. No pictures for this one, by the way. By the way, thanks to the YKPM people, they did great and still is doing great serving the people at Taman Prima Selayang.

YC Conference.
I think this year's camp/conference is quite interesting. It's about impacting the community (again, relating to the above). Perhaps that is the reason I signed up for it this year. I usually don't go for YC camps, usually the reason is that I have no friends there, but now I have after since I joined in the YKPM projects. Not that going for camps is wrong or bad, in fact good and beneficial; but what is the point of being close to God and not doing anything when there are people out there in need? So, hopefully through this conference, we will be able to impact the community in different ways. Don't want to yap too much about it, for I am sure you lost concentration halfway through the last topic.

I don't think there is anymore to be said at the moment. Anyway, this week hopefully will be a busy week for me. I have to complete tuition and school (believe it or not, it's true) homework, get school essentials and other stuff. By the way, I am going Penang this coming weekend. Next week will already be the conference, so I won't have much time after that to run my errands. The thing is, I am just too lazy to lift a finger, and that is very bad. The love of money is not the only root of all evil, laziness is too. Thanks much for bearing with my yapping and preaching ;)

Why la, change science and maths to BM? It's like one step forward, three steps back. Changing science and maths to English is one of the smartest moves ever made by the government (seriously). Why do they change just to please the 'laureates' and 'linguists' when they don't even know how to plan for the future of the country? This just upsets me so much. One step forward, three steps back. And most of the people, I'm sure, are upset by this change. So, should they listen to the 'laureates' or the people? I believe the people have the right to choose. And I believe the government should work in favour of the people for the future of the country. I won't be affected, thank God; but still, it upsets me. After all, it is still my country. Our country.

Today I had to take the First Aid written test, and I got 38/50. Actually it should be 39, because the *ahem* doctor fellow from GH marked a question wrong. The question goes something like this: "The pulmonary vein carries ______ blood to the heart". Anyone in the right mind would say oxygenated, but he insisted it was deoxygenated. Genius. He mistook that all veins carry deoxygenated blood, but in truth, all veins carries blood back to the heart, including oxygenated. I rest my case, faux doctor. Google it and see. It's true. I hope I did pass, I really want that certificate. It's said to help you after you leave school, but who knows. Anyway certificates are cool. But I'll be a hypocryte because I don't really know how to perform First Aid and CPR. Too bad then.

And finally something good came out of the dengue fever. One of the questions were "What is the normal blood pressure for an adult?". I remembered that when I was hospitalised, the nurses always came to check my blood pressure and they would say "120 over 80, normal". And the answer was 120/80 mmHg. Haha, I guess one can learn one or two things from being hospitalised.

There will a History and Moral test this Saturday. How I hate Form 4 History. All the boring stuff in the middle of the book, if you know what I mean. Sheesh.

I'll be dead by the end of this month. Even if I'm not, I'd wish I were. In two weeks, there will be the mid-year exams, spanning over two weeks. Furthermore, I have 3 essays that I have yet to do for Moral, and a total or 30 book reports (15 for English and 15 for Malay). OMG KILL ME. Worst of all,I brought all of this upon myself. If I only had not been procrastinating... I have a new found respect for form 5's and ex-form 5's who took pure science... *_*

Busy busy busy. I might not be updating in a month. So, please be patient and wait for my return, or not. God seriously help me...

Unhappiness inside a mosquito

Wow, it has already been more than a month. Well, A LOT of things happened in the past one month, so I'll start from the Annual Sports Day. In the meanwhile, why don't you grab a cup of tea or coffee and sit back for this will be one heck of a post.

I'm just going to keep this one short, since you can read it on other blogs. On that very morning, it was raining. But still, it must go on. First, the march past, Red house was disqualified for doing some formations, Blue won with the help of a bubble-blowing machine, the rest were as plain as Jane. Cheerleading, poor things had to dance in the rain. Green first, Blue second, Red third and Yellow last. All of them were pretty messy and disorganised, some even dance like zombies. But you have to give them props for dancing in the rain. And it was not a light drizzle. Track events. Yan Kuan aced in everything she participated in. No.1 all the way. There are some Form 1 and 2 hopefuls that could replace Yan Kuan in the years to come, haha! In the end, Red house won again for the 6 time, I think. The other houses (especially Green) were so ever kind to let us win again ;)

Later on that day, we went to KLCC, nothing to talk about, it was a boring day. Boring like a drill boring holes into your skull boring. Then the next week was school holidays! It wasn't boring for me, they never are. Especially when my sister is back, my family goes out almost every single day. So, I didn't really do my homework (as always). Then on Friday, things get interesting.

That very Friday, my brother came back from work with a fever. Then on Saturday night, my mother had fever (not the Saturday night fever, mind you). Then on Sunday morning, I had fever, and on that Sunday night it was so high I felt like melting but yet I still feel cold. Then I took some medication and it subsided. Then on the next day, to my surprise, my eyes were inflamed like a goldfish's. Turns out I was allergic to the fever tabs. My fever continued until Wednesday, so I went back to school on Thursday. But my mother was having diarrhoea and vomiting and also dizzy spells but no fever. So on Thursday morning, my father took her to see a doctor. Her blood pressure was so low that the doctor couldn't even get a reading. She was also very dehydrated because of the frequent loss of body fluids. So the doctor said she had to be hospitalised and be put on the intravenous drip. Of course, all this was happening without me knowing as I was in school. My brother also went to see a doctor twice in that span of 7 days, but the doctor said it was only a normal fever. So my mother did a blood test at the hospital and it was confirmed DENGUE. "DENGUE? How could it be dengue?", you might ask. Well, there were no red spots or any rash, and certainly no bleeding from the eyes or mouth. Apparently, this is a new strain of dengue, that has new symptoms like vomiting and diarrhoea, which the 'older' strain did not have. Anyway, her blood platelet count was really really low, with a number of 19. A normal healthy person would be 300 - 500, so its almost rock bottom. And this is especially dangerous. If you got injured, it will never stop bleeding because of the low platelet count and could prove fatal. So my sister came back to take care of my mother and other stuff. On that Thursday night, we all went to visit her at Assunta Hospital in PJ, the hospital that all 3 of us (my siblings including me) were born. My mother told the doctor in the hospital that my brother and I had the same symptoms, so the doctor said we better get out blood tested. So we went, and lo and behold, my brother's platelet count was 77. Mine was 133, both were confirmed dengue. Unfortunately, my brother had to be hospitalised that night. I was given one day grace period, and I was required to do another test on the following day. If it dropped, I would also have to be hospitalised. The doctor recommended red grapes, as the skin of it has some sort of enzyme to replenish blood platelets. I was also given a medical leave for Friday. My mother also had a blood platelet transfusion on that Thursday night. So the next day, I spent pretty much the whole day in the hospital with my sister and brother and mother. They were put in different wards so we had to constantly commute back and forth if they need something. We felt like the real nurses here. So about 7 p.m., my sister accompanied me to take the blood test. After and hour, the results came out and alas, I too, had to be hospitalised because my blood platelet count had dropped to 121. I was thinking, "What the hell-o, it is just 12 miserable platelets, don't have to put me in an air-conditioned jail for that". But the doctor said it was dropping, so whatever. The hospital is super-super boring because there is practically nothing to do in the ward. There is a TV, but it is only for people who subscribed and payed extra. But the main reason why I did not want to be hospitalised is because of the drip. To be honest it is not the most fun things in the world, Imagine a plastic needle being stuck in your vein. And it hurts a bit too when you move your wrist. Fortunately, the bed beside my brother was empty, as a patient checked out earlier in the day. So my father requested that I was put there. I was actually quite tired then, so I slept like a log, except when the nurses woke me up to take my blood pressure and temperature every now and then.

The next day, I started to have the infamous rash. My brother and my mother also had it on the 5th or 6th day, very different from the 'older' dengue, as the rash is early and sudden. A lot of people came with their different remedies for dengue. One of them was "spring chicken soup with bitter gourd", which was actually just frog soup with bitter gourd, made by my loving grandmother. It was bitter, but I didn't mind the frogs. I actually wanted to eat some, but too bad, my grandmother didn't bring any of the legs, only the soup. So all three of us had our share. Another remedy that is said to work is the juice of the papaya tree leaf, yes, leaf, not fruit. At first my mother and I didn't dare to drink it, only my brother, as it was especially green, greener than the pastures or Switzerland. But on that Saturday, they did a blood test (they did this every single day) and my brother's blood platelet count sky rocketed to 120++. That is one heck of a juice. Sounds too good to be true, but it is the most bitter green liquid I have ever tasted in my whole entire life. Fortunately, it was only 2 tablespoons per day, but 2 tablespoons is enough to kill all the taste buds in your tongue alone. So I had to stuff 4 or 5 grapes after a tablespoon of that nasty bitter green stuff. The grapes, too, were sweetness overkill if eaten alone. So most of the bitterness were taken away, but a horrid aftertaste is still left in my mouth. Even my mother can't stand it. So the doctor discharged my brother on that day, so I would be sleeping alone. But the nurses were so kind, they shifted my mother into the same ward as I am without being told. It is more convenient for my father, sister and the visitors too. Plus, I won't be sleeping alone. Then at 8 p.m., they switched off the lights for Earth Hour. I wonder if they did that for the mortuary. I'm sure the mortician would be freaked, hehe.

The next day, my platelet count went up, from 101 on Saturday to 110++ on Sunday. My mother's platelet count went up too, from 19 on Thursday to 33 after the transfusion and then 66 on Sunday. The miracle potent juice works after all. The hospital food is OK, but a bit bland at times. The most amazing thing is my name on the menu. The food lady will come in every morning to take orders for next day's food menu. On Saturday, my name was 'IAN LAI ZENCHI' on the menu, then for some reason it became IAN LAI ZENCH' on Sunday and the most amazing of all, my name miraculously turned to 'LAI LAI ZENCH' on Monday. Like, WHO ON EARTH HAS A NAME LIKE LAI LAI ZENCH?! It's just amazing...

On Monday, my blood platelets shot up to 140++ and I could be finally discharged from the hospital. Finally, I'm free from the drip. Do you know how troublesome it is to have to drip on? I had to carry it everywhere even when I wanted to take a leek. And sometimes when I get up, my blood pressure is raised thus leading to a back flow of blood into the tube. Then the nurse will have to flush the tube, which is just removing the tube and letting the water flow to get rid of the blood and bubbles. And since the other end of the catheter is not capped, blood will flow out and this will lead to a bloody affair. Not only that, my left hand became swollen because of the constant water intake through my veins. So once in a while, I had to clench my fists to 'press' the water out of my hand. I felt so liberated when the nurse too out the catheter. I can finally move my hand freely without having to feel a bit of pain in my vein. The doctor also said my mother could also be discharged, but they'll have to see whether my mother still has a fever as she had a slight fever that morning. Thankfully, her fever subsided and we can finally leave that prison. So I had medical leave for the whole week and we were required for a follow up visit on Friday. Amazingly, my platelet count shot up to 331, more than my brother on his follow up visit. My mother's also shot up to 220++, thankfully, I was so afraid that we might have to be hospitalised again. But my mother's blood pressure is ranging from low - normal, quite unusual for she has suffered from hypertension for 4 years.

Next week, I resumed school and my life was as hectic as ever. So much work to catch up (actually I did not miss much, but the teachers insisted that I did them =_=). Plus I had to prepare for both my English Oral Test and my BM Oral Test too. So hectic, so ever busy. I think I might even get hypertension. Plus, now everyone is and was sooo emo, I have no idea why, but that just makes me even more depressed and stressed up. Oh well, this probably means that life is back to normal.

From this experience, I had actually learnt quite a lot. On Thursday, I was quite upset and worried that my mother was hospitalised. I actually asked God why would He let this happen, but perhaps I was too blind then. Later then I realised that if my mother wasn't hospitalised, my mother wouldn't even be here as her condition was so critical. Once again, God saves. This made me realise that the best thing to do is to always trust God fully even if we don't know what might happen next for He is bigger than all our worries, problems and troubles. And things always happen for a reason, eventhough we might not be able to see the reason at that time. Just wait and see, and God will reveal everything in time. I know this is easier said than done, as I have tried so many times just to do this when the going gets tough. But I'll do my best. In addition, this was actually my first time taking a blood test. I was quite scared to be honest. But they came and took every single day until I got used to it, and it's acutally kinda fun to see blood being drawn. Call me a sadist or masochist, whatever.

Then on 11 April 2009, we finally gave Peps and Jack away to my cousin. Saddening, yes, but it is for the better for us and for them. Some time later in the week, I received news that they were adopted by a school for their "mini zoo" project. Probably a primary school. I actually feel kind of worried for them, who knows what might the rascals do to them. I just hope that they will be taken care of well.

Look on the bright side, at least now I won't be getting dengue anymore, not this strain at least. Dengue is a virus thus it can always mutate and develop different strains causing different symptoms, but they all have cause high fever, so better be careful. I believe my brother came back with dengue and the aedes mosquito bit him, my mother then me. Surprisingly my father did not get bitten. The mosquito was probably full by then, haha. Actually, we were not the only case of dengue. My neighbour also had dengue the week before we had, and the Sri Petaling area has quite a number of dengue cases too. I think it is because of the sewage-turn-fishing pond just down the road, since they closed it down to build some condominiums. Now its a swamp which I think the aedes mosquitoes come from. They should take some action against it. Being hospitalised isn't cheap, you know.

Yikes. We're bringing Spice and Sugar to spay tomorrow morning. According to my mom, they're showing signs of horniness. Yes, horniness. Spice keeps rolling on the floor and keeps wanting us to pet her, which is quite uncommon, since she is only friendly to me. It's true. Sugar too cried a horny cry last night, according to my mom. Thank God the boys have not reached "cat puberty" yet. If not, they'll multiply like the descendants of Abraham!

So we brought them to the vet today. Our true intentions was to bring them for their 3rd vaccination, but my mom wanted to spay them as soon as possible, or else we'll be able to open a cattery. Once bitten twice shy. So my mom asked the vet if they are ready to be spayed. The vet said that it can be done, since it is better to be safe than sorry. Plus, my sister is coming back tomorrow night, which means, of course, she'll have to help met nurse the cats. So, we (or rather, my mom) will have to leave them at the vet tomorrow morning and collect them the following day. The vet also said that we can bring them next week to remove the stiches and give them their 3rd vaccination. How convenient! I just hope they won't be too stressed out tomorrow. Since they're quite small compared to the time we brought Scratch for spaying. Even then Scratch had to put up a fight with the vet. I just pray that their surgery will be smooth.

Tomorrow is also the annual school sports day. Of course, I'm not participating in any event, since I'm no good at athletics. I'll just be giving "moral" support. It's still fun to watch. I hope the red house could defend their title as the reigning champion. Hehe, Merak just rule like a metre rule! >=3

Ah yes, I also got back all my results. I'm not going to list down all of their marks, since to some it might be bragging and I'm just too lazy. But I'm happy to say that I got straight A's. All of them are A1's, except for History, which I got an A2 for. Horrifiying, really. Then I got no.7 in class. Praise God for that. Ah yes, I might be going KLCC tomorrow too.

So, I've been recently addicted to The Bird and the Bee, a indie pop duo which consists of Inara George and Greg Kurstin. What I like about this duo is that it is not anywhere near mainstream music(mainstream music is just, blehh). I just love their witty and humourous lyrics, without being too nonsensical and cheesy. Their music also have this really retro 70's sound, yet still fresh and young. Unique, fun and enjoyable.

Haha. I lied. Not really. More like a sudden change of plans, but the plans may have never really existed at all. Pepper and Jack were not given away. I was suddenly told that we do not have to give them away, so I'm not sure that the plan to give them away was really there at all (This happened on Monday).

Anyway, more tests tomorrow(Yes, there's school tomorrow): Chemistry, Moral and History. Great fun. No, not really. Have you ever met people who thinks that the universe just revolves around their big fat head and nothing else matters? Well, I have. I guess that should be all. Too little? What am I suppose to do, school life is pretty mundane (to me).

Chinese New Year was a blast, but as always, all good things must come to an end. And sadly, two of my cats, Pepper and Jack, will be given away tomorrow to my cousin who owns a pet shop. Apparently today, Pepper pooped and stepped all over it, thus dirtying the whole floor. Then my father caught hold of him to wash his paws. Like any water-hating cat, he retaliated, leaving my father's face and arms all scratched. Then came Jack, and he pooped too, but the poop he pooped was all that solid. Then my father tried to wipe his butt but he growled at my father. Losing his patience, my father then used a towel to spank him until he hid under a table. After this incident, he just couldn't stand these two anymore. I actually have no problems with them, and Pepper is quite well behaved in my opinion. Ah, but my opinions wouldn't matter anyway. After being spanked out of his life, Jack let off a cry in the kitchen. My mother comforted him, and so did Chubbs(the fifth-born kitten). Then some time later at night, my mother decided it is best to give Pepper and Jack away to my cousin. My mother didn't really want to give them away, but she said "no choice." I am truly saddened by the thought of not having to be able to see them again, but I wonder how would the other cats feel. Do they feel that they lost two siblings? Would they wonder why two of their siblings are missing? Animals do feel emotions, although they are not able to rationalize things like us. They react according to their insticts. For every action, there is an equal an opposite reaction. If you hurt them, it is obvious that they would fight back. In fact, even humans do that. If someone hurts you, isn't it common sense that we should defend ourselves? There are just so many things in my mind right now that I would like to say, but I can't. Oh well. Like my mother said, "No choice." I just hope they would get adopted by a loving family.

I've been in quite a slump today. Everyday, I have this struggle with loneliness and the feelings of inferiority to others. In just a matter of minutes, I can be happy and then depressed, like having a bipolar disorder. While others might have good days and bad days, I have good hours and bad hours. I do sometimes get jealous when I see people happy, without knowing the reasons why I am unhappy. Feeling inferior to others hurts, and sometimes I do develop a superiority complex to make up for the inferior parts of me. Seeing people who are good in sports and in studies develops an inferiority complex in me, so I prize my intelligence highly. And sometimes, I do get a little overboard and insensitive when I get higher marks in a exam. I know my weaknesses, but I do not even know my own strengths. I find myself very strange and out of place, like a food item among detergents. While others may talk about their similar interests, I just do not fit in. They talk about football, I know nothing about football. They talk about music, but I do not listen to mainstream music. They talk about the opposite sex, but I just do not find it interesting. Perhaps I am genderless, but that is not the case. Being unique is a good thing, but being too different is painful. That is most probably the reason why I am always coping with loneliness. Many people might not understand, but that is fine, just as I do not understand them. Everyone's feelings are like a jumble of wires that no one can ever understand which wire goes where. I'm sure everyone is like the ocean; calm on the surface, but the pressure deep underneath proves fatal.

I think we are somewhat like galaxies in the universe, having that each and every one of us has a black hole in the middle. It just keeps eating and eating matter, always having a void to fill. While others may fill the void by having a relationship, eventually, it will too be sucked into oblivion. Trying to fill the void with drugs and alcohol is a one way ticket to hell. Unless we fill the void with something that is infinite, we will never be able to find fulfilment. Of course, only God is infinite in this world.

Wow, I haven't posted anything for two consecutive weeks(and more) already. Well, school life isn't always very interesting. Everyday is pretty much the same, except for the timetables. From Monday to Tuesday, school ends at 2.30 p.m. and for Wednesday and Thursday, school ends at 1.50 p.m. and 12.30 p.m. on Friday. And every morning I have to wake up at 6 a.m. to get ready for school. Its not exactly fun having to get up so early, I'm sure you know. Plus, I even don't take naps in the afternoon either because I'm too busy with school work or I just don't want to. If I took a nap, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

Form 4 is...not as fun as Form 2. Add maths is a cold-blooded murderer and Physics is...a teeny weeny bit confusing. I kind of like Chemistry, and Biology would be quite fun for me I believe. And Moral is just...ARGH. I think its unnecessary to take Moral but noooooo, they had to make it a core subject. Not like it helps anyway. If it would have helped, everyone would grow flowers from their heads due to overwhelming niceness.

Oh well. I don't have anything else to write. The end?

Mid-December blues

Oh dear. Its mid-December already. Time really flies when you're doing nothing productive. Everyday has been quite similar; like a routine. I am not complaining that it is boring, in fact, I love not doing anything; but sometimes I wish that my days would be much more 'eventful'. Currently, Scratch the mama cat is on heat, in other words, she is a horny cat. Being on heat means, of course, that she wants to mate. We cannot afford to have more cats, so she has to be put under house arrest (well, she always have been, ever since she got pregnant). We might be taking her to the vet this Friday for spaying.

On the other hand, the kittens finally have actual names. They are now 2 and a half months old, and since no one wants them(but us), we will have to keep them all. This would definitely put a hole in our wallets, since they are able to finish a can of cat food at every meal(they are only fed twice a day, but we do leave dry food/cat biscuits for them to eat in case they got hungry, of course). We do occasionally steam fresh fish(not actually 'fresh', but unprocessed fish) for them, usually on weekends.

Keeping all of them is actually not a bad thing, since they are such bundles of joy. But sometimes, they behave like demons. Each and every one of them has different personalities, and they are all very distinct. For example, the first born(dark-coloured one), named Spice, has very pretty features, beautiful markings and a nice thick coat, but she acts like a princess. The second born, named Pepper is friendly, but very playful. The third born, named Sugar, is demure and gentle, but she, too, plays like a ruffian at times. The fourth born, named Jack(or JackJack), is a total ruffian, but he is a good cat. The fifth born, named Fei Zhai(actually means 'fat boy' in Cantonese) or Chubbs, is the largest among all of them(not actual fats, but he has a very thick coat), but he is very timid and gentle. Furthermore, he IS the cutest.

Of ulcers and unwelcomed visitors

It all started when my parents went to Johor for a business trip last Tuesday. Tossing and turning on that Tuesday morning, I woke at six to feed the kittens, clean their toilets and whatnot. Then, my mother woke up too to mop my sister's room, which the kittens are lodging there. At seven, my brother woke up, saying too that he couldn't get some shuteye. Eventually, my father woke up. Since we were all awake, he suggested that we go out for breakfast before my parents leave. That idea was rather appealing to me, for I was famished. Later then, we went for breakfast at a nearby coffee shop, then my brother suggested to walk home since our house was just barely a half a kilometer away. So, my parents left for Johor, leaving my brother and I to walk home.

The next day, the gums just between my tongue and my left set molars hurt a little. I thought it wouldn't be anything serious, since it wasn't excruciatingly painful. I got the news that my sister will be coming back together with my parents on Thursday, since she got a day off on Friday. Then on Thursday, the pain in my mouth turned out to be an ulcer, and this time, it certainly was excruciatingly painful. Not only that, it was huge, too. Because it was beside my tongue, everytime I talk or eat or chew, my tongue would rub against the ulcer and cause it to hurt. I have tried sprinkling salt on that accursed ulcer, but the pain from the salt is uncomparable to the pain of my tongue rubbing against it. I assure you, I am not exaggerating. As usual, my grandparents would always pack lunch for my brother and I, and this time, it was rice. I barely touched my rice, as the pain had caused my loss of appetite. I had to eat my lunch for dinner. Even so, I could not finish it. My parents came home around 12 to 1 in the morning, with my sister.

On Friday, my grandparents brought porridge. It was a relief to me, as porridge is not as painful as eating rice. Worried that I would not have sufficient food, my siblings ordered pizza. In the end, they could not finish it, so I had to eat some. It was quite a painful experience, since it was not soft. On that night, my brother had to attend his cell group and so did my father. So, my mother, sister and I went to my grandparent's house for dinner. Thankfully, my grandmother still had some porridge from the afternoon. Later, my sister went to buy some sort of medicine that was supposed to help my ulcer heal faster.

Alas, it was Saturday. My grandparents were headed for Raub to attend a wedding, so we invited my aunt for dinner. I then realised I had more than one ulcer. Two ulcers. Then, we went out to shop for groceries at half past three, except for my brother. He was asleep. As we were leaving, it was starting to rain. Just to be sure, my sister called home to inform my brother to take in the clothes. He said he already did before she called, but he just woke up and was quite blur then. When we got home, we waited outside for awhile as it was raining cats and dogs. A few minutes later, my brother came out to say that we left the door and inner gate opened. My sister recalled locking the inner gate and closing the door. Then my brother noticed the side of the gate cut. The interior of the house was messy. Books were lying everywhere. Yup, an unwelcomed visitor broke into the house. Everyone was shocked, including my brother who thought the cat made the mess. My parents' room was ransacked. Pillows were tossed on the floor, drawers were drawn and everything was a mess. Surprisingly, my brother slept right through the whole incident. My neighbours too, did not see or hear anything. My mother checked to see if anything was stolen. The unwelcomed visitor stole my mother's jewellery, my sister's jewellery and watch, my father's watch and pens, one of my sister's two phones, the camera which I often use to take pictures of my cats and my father's laptop. There could be more that the unwelcomed visitor stole. To our surprise, the unwelcomed visitor did not take the Wii and my precious PSP. Thank God that my brother was sleeping in my room, for my wallet and my savings were all in the room. Then my father went to make a report. My sister was outraged that he stole her phone with her Singapore sim card in it. My mother was not really affected by the incident, as she said that material things are not important, what is more important is that no lives were harmed. I truly thank God for that. Scratch the cat seemed to be quite terrified too, I believe. The door was flung wide and open and she could have ran outside, but she did not. Usually nasty unwelcomed visitors like this often get away with it. So the police was not much help either. So, life goes on as usual. God bless that unwelcomed visitor.

Currently, my ulcers are healing up nicely. They do not hurt as much, only a little, so that shows that it is recovering. The cat is fine, the kittens are playful as always. As for the unwelcomed visitor, well, I can't really say much, but now we have extra bolted doors. Remember, thieves are smart now, they do not steal while you're asleep, they steal while you are out. So be on guard, better to be safe than sorry. A wise person learns from the mistakes of others.

So sorry for the 2 months of absence. I know PMR finished a month ago, but my PSP...its like drugs... . It will be almost impossible to cover 2 months' worth of events, so here's a summary:

30th September - My cat was confirmed to be pregnant, but it was too late. She gave birth to 5 kittens; 3 males and 2 females. I would be keeping the 2 females, so anyone, please adopt one of the males! It would be cruel and cold to give them away to SPCA.

13th October - PMR. I think I failed BM :'( (figure of speech)

17th October - PMR finished. Went out to Mid Valley with friends and watched the worst movie of my whole entire life: Disaster Movie.

The rest of October until November - Going to school was just like watching grass grow.

Somewhere in October - Went out again. Shirley and Joevy had to attend their prefect party.

31st October - Class party in class.

7th November - Went out to Berjaya Times Square with friends. Watched the second and third worst movie in my whole entire life: The Coffin and High School Musical 3. It was this that I realised my friends' skills at choosing movies are way ~~bad~~.

It has been more than a month since I blogged... Wow.

Well, the internet connection has been really really really really slow for the past few weeks, so I didn't really bother about switching on the computer. Furthermore, we already had 2 tests just in 1 month, including the PMR trial which we just recently had. Anyways, lets move on to the important stuff.

1. PASSION WORLD TOUR: KL

One word: Amazing. Passion is a Christian conference for university and college students, so I wasn't supposed to be there. Anyways, I got "volunteer" passes from my father who is the general manager of Glad Sounds who was having a book table there so never mind. My brother, my sister and her special friend went. So did I and my mother. Everything of it was amazing. But the most amazing of all is God. God is simply amazing. Too amazing for words to describe. Louie Giglio, Chris Tomlin and Charlie Hall were great too. I met Chris Tomlin in person, haha.

I gots a PSP thanks to my sister :) Well, she got it for free, so I was stuck with this colour. Beggars can't be choosers, right?

4. HOLIDAYS

YES, HOLIDAYS. Finally, a break from horrible school. Unfortunately it is just a week. On Tuesday, I went out with my brother and his friend to Mid Valley to watch Star Wars: Clone Wars. Not bad, not bad. Then on Wednesday, I went to Pavilion with my mother and my brother to watch WALL·E. Seriously, WALL·E rawks. Be kind to yourself. Go watch WALL·E. One of the best shows that Pixar has ever made. I also bought The Call of Cthulhu and other weird stories from Times bookstore. It's written by H.P. Lovecraft. Holy crap, it's as scary as hell. I read 3 stories and I already regretted buying it. Holy crap. I don't think I have the sanity to continue reading it. It's far worse than watching a horror movie. If you like scary shit like this, then I recommend H.P. Lovecraft. He makes you visualise the scenes and then it haunts you. If I knew it was this scary, I wouldn't have bought it.

It's been ages since I updated my half-dead blog. Well, there is really nothing much to talk about. School is as boring as always, and PMR is getting closer day by day... The cat is fine, I think. But that is not the case for yesterday. Well, I came home from school at 1.10 p.m. and I find the house in a foul stench. I asked my brother what was it, and lo and behold, the cat had poo-ed on some cushions. The smell was unbearable. Unfortunately for me, my brother had to leave for college at that time. So I had to clean up the mess that the little skunky cat made. To my surprise, I found worms in the faeces. Worms as in long, yellow, moving, live worms. Purely disgusting. I had to wear a mask(2 masks, to be precise) while cleaning the faeces and washing the cushions. I managed to clean them but they still smell so my mother washed them in the washing machine. This morning, I found her(my cat) vomiting on the floor. I have no idea what was wrong with her, but she vomited a few times later, too. Well, she's better now and she;s eating normally now(I forgot to mention that she lost her appetite). Silly cat, made me so worried +_+

Finally, I'm able to post something again. Hey, it isn't easy to think about something and post it, ok? :P Well, nothing much happens in school. Besides the homework, depressing moments and sleepy mornings, school is still pretty normal. Not to mention the extra classes that had been going on from every Monday till Wednesday. After reaching home at 4.30 p.m., you just really feel like doing nothing else but sleep. And usually my brain stops functioning at night, which leaves me unable to think at all. So, usually at the end of every week I have to work my ass off which of course, leaves me no time to study for my PMR. Well, there is only 4 months left to revise and honestly, I haven't even start at all (-_-|||) I live a pitiful life. Or maybe I'm just damn lazy. Well, you can't blame me for being tired and exhausted. I mean, which human being on Earth can still be energetic and preppy after spending almost 10 hours in school? Well, its definitely not me. And oh joy, my class had been chosen to be the target class for PMR. That means that EVERYONE in the class MUST get straight A's. If we don't, well, they'll flame us to bits. To be honest, I'm not confident at all. Well, my BM sucks, Mathematics is really saddening and History is just too much for me to remember in a lifetime. Well, that pretty sums it all up. By the way, I got no. 4 out of 35 in class. Thank God for that :) Well, I don't really think that I have 'gotten smart'. In fact, I think a lot of students' grades dropped because they were too busy dating :P I'm serious. Well, thats what you get for dating at such a young age. Haha. School this week wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Thank God. Anyway, there is a kitteh often lingering at my house. It's so small and scrawny. I have no idea where it's mama is, but I have a feeling that it's mama died or abandoned it or something. And it is always look so lonely. Went to Nicole's condominium yesterday for a so-called party. Justin, Yan Kuan, Cheryl, Jinhan, Wei Shern, Kevin and the rest were there. First they played badminton. Out of boredom, I started whipping people using the curtain rope thingy like S&M xD Then we went to the playground at the condominium and Kevin and Nicole went up to make sushi(t). We also brought our own dishes except for me because I bought junk food. Nicole didn't let us eat until they were done with the sushi(t) =.= So out of starvation, Yan Kuan and I made our own sushi to eat. Of course ours tasted better xD But I added too much wasabi to mine so I suffered... After eating, Cheryl wanted to go to the playground at the housing area just outside Nicole's condominium. So Justin, Yan Kuan, Jinhan and I went. Galvin also went by the way. We were supposed to wait for Cheryl and Galvin but we didn't know where they were so we went off without them. Then Yan Kuan called her a few times then only she came. Went crazy in the playground as usual and got my pants all dirty. After that people started leaving. And I received a few presents.

Sorry for not updating for a hundred years. I just wanna say thank you for all the birthday wishes that I have received and I also wanna wish happy birthday to Wei Shern (1st June) and Jinhan (30th May). Well, I love school holidays. Unlike most people, I actually love doing nothing at home. Procrastinating is fun. Even so, I still have homework and stuff to do during the school holidays. And it will be my first time washing my school shoes for 2008! Well, I didn't bother washing them since the first day of school this year. Amazing, eh? And also, my sister was back for a visit from last Thursday till Monday. My family and I went out a lot during this time span, so yeah, that's pretty the excuse for my absence. We went to watch Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on Saturday and Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian on Sunday. Indy was nice, and watching Prince Caspian again was quite fun. I'm finally done with my History project. I stayed up till 4.40 a.m. to finish it. This is the latest I have stayed up so far in my life. Last minute do okay xD At least I passed up on time. And school holidays are starting. Anyways, I realized quite a number of events happened and is going to happen in May. First is my parents' anniversary on the 1st. Then my father's birthday on the 18th, my grandfather's on the 22nd and my mother's on the 29th. And also quite a number of my friends too. Anyway my school had the Teacher's day celebration today. Sorry for not posting in a 100 years. Anyway, exams are over, I'm finally done with my Geography project and my results are quite well so far. Thank God I got A for Maths even though its a low class A. 77 not bad lah xP 75 above is considered an A by the way. I also got A for History(80 I think), Geography(87 I think), Moral(85) and Art(83). Eh, not bad lah. At least I got all A's so far. My BM marks is gonna be HORRIBLE. Anyway, went to Mid Valley to watch The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian today with Chiam, Yan Kuan, Wei Shern and the rest. Chiam, Yan Kuan, Nicoleslaw and I took LRT there and changed to KTM in order to reach Mid Valley. KTM SUCKS BIG TIME. First of all, the train is so bloody packed, you don't even have space to move. And the train moves so bloody slow. And we took the wrong train xD How stupid. Anyway, we arrived on time and met up with the rest. The movie was quite nice. But it would be nicer if they didn't change the story. For example, Susan and Caspian didn't have a relationship. Although Reepicheep is bloody cute xD
